Why should we embrace a system of private property?

There is no freedom without personal responsibility, and there is no personal responsibility without being able to benefit from the fruits of hard work. 

Private property is the result of personal sacrifice, hard work and a commitment to future generations. It also serves as a bulwark against government tyranny: What is yours is not the government’s.

Every free society has private property as its economic basis. Private property is to the free market as marriage is to the family – and without it, freedom collapses.
